Kenji Taki Gallery (Nagoya) is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Nobuyuki Tanaka, an artist who creates three-dimensional works using urushi (Japanese lacquer). “I feel that urushi has the power to evoke primordial memories related to the origin and generation of life,” Tanaka states.

His works are created using the kanshitsu (dry lacquer) technique, leveraging the organic forms and skin-like textures evoked by the materiality of urushi. This exhibition will feature a selection of both recent and new works.
