Kentaro Yokouchi Exhibition
This presentation features Kentaro Yokouchi, who has gained attention for his paintings using glossy satin fabric and dye, and who received the VOCA Award in 2008.
The exhibition will present approximately ten new works from his Book series, in which he paints imagery derived from auction catalog reproductions of artworks and antiques. The works focus on portraits from Europe, Japan, and China, including depictions of Western women.
The blurred, floating surfaces and inverted color schemes create a simultaneous sense of elegance and unease.
