Dock-Yong KIM
Biography
Born in 1961 in Gwangju, South Korea.
He majored in Oriental painting at Seoul National University’s College of Fine Arts and its graduate school. While mastering the techniques and spirit of traditional Oriental painting, he transitioned to a unique form of mixed-media painting using old wood as a support rather than paper or silk, establishing a style that fuses traditional Korean aesthetics with contemporary art. His works, imbued with a sense of nostalgia and warmth, are highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally.
